A top estate in the Haut-Médoc, near Pauillac, Château Larose Trintaudon was recently designated a Cru Bourgeois Superieur. Dating to at least 1838, it once shared an owner with Gruaud Larose. The average vines are over 40 years old and all harvesting is done by hand. The second wine of the estate is made from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fresh red fruit, with subtle oak and soft tannins. Excellent balance here. A great match for cured meats and hard cheeses.
