Bright ruby-red. Classic Malbec aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, and bitter chocolate. Concentrated, suave and a bit youthfully medicinal, showing much more lift in the middle palate than the 2015 Punta de Flechas Corte. The dark berry flavors are enlivened by licorice, spice and mineral notes. This juicy, dark wine boasts an essential pliancy of texture but its firm tannins call for some patience. In a distinctly less hot style than the 2012 Grand Corte blend and probably better balanced for aging. Finishes with a firm tannic backbone and persistent notes of bitter chocolate and violet. A superb showing.
